President Maia Sandu visits Donduseni and Balti

President Maia Sandu visited Dondușeni and Balti to discuss with the inhabitants about the modernization and development of northern Moldova. In Donduseni, the head of state attended the inauguration of the first energy-independent Fire and Rescue Unit, while in Balti, Sandu planned to meet with businessmen, IPN reports.

According to a presidential press release, the Fire and Rescue Unit is a project realized with the support of the United States of America and will improve the intervention capacity for 40 thousand residents of Donduseni and 30 other localities.

"This building demonstrates the potential of green energy. It is an example that, by harnessing renewable sources, we can strengthen resilience and energy security while having near-zero energy bills. It is a model for a cleaner and more accessible future for all", said Maia Sandu during her visit to Donduseni.

In Balti, Maia Sandu is scheduled to meet representatives of the local business community. To support the dynamics of entrepreneurship, the authorities are implementing projects to improve infrastructure and living conditions. Among the most important investments in this regard are the modernization of hospitals in Balti, the rehabilitation of road infrastructure, such as the completion of the Balti road junction, as well as energy efficiency projects, namely the installation of smart meters and thermal insulation of public buildings.

The Head of State will also meet the citizens of the village of Plop, where she will discuss the projects realized in the locality, such as the installation of the photovoltaic park and the project "Revival of the Cubolta River", financed by the National Environmental Fund.
