Romanian president Traian Basescu is making working visits to Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey on August 20-21, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the official site of the Romanian presidency. The Romanian president will talk with his counterparts : Viktor Yushchenko, Vladimir Voronin, Ilham Aliyev, Mihail Saakashvili and Abdullah Gul, and the Turkish premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The goal of the visits is to discuss the situation in Georgia and its consequences on the regional plane. Traian Basescu will discuss issues related to Romania's bilateral relationships with the envisaged states. A special topic of interest for Romania is the development of the cooperation in the Black Sea area, by enhancing the involvement of some “multilateral relevant actors”, as the European Union, NATO and the OSCE. The Moldovan presidency has not issued any information as to this visit of the head of the neighboring state to Chisinau.
