Premier to visit Shanghai and Brussels

Prime Minister Vlad Filat will pay a four-day visit to China's Shanghai. He will take part in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo and will have a meeting with his Chinese counterpart to discuss the export of Moldovan wines to China. From Shanghai, the Premier will leave for Brussels, where he will also raise the issue of Moldova's wine exports, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Our relations with China are in Moldova's interests. I will discuss China's investment policy in Moldova with the Chinese Premier. We are close to signing the first investment contract with a Chinese company for implementing road infrastructure projects, in very advantageous conditions for our country,” Vlad Filat said in a program on the public TV channel Moldova 1. According to him, the project has a budget of about US$63 million. Vlad Filat said another subject for discussion in China will be the flood cleanup assistance that will be provided to Moldova. He will also participate in Moldova's Day in Shanghai. Asked about the wine exports to Russia, Vlad Filat said the export is now not blocked. “We continue to work. We want to remedy the situation,” the Premier said. He stressed that in Brussels, they will also discuss the subject of wine exports and consider solutions. Vlad Filat reiterated that the negotiations with the European Investment Bank on the provision of the first tranche of €50 million of the loan for modernizing Moldova's wine industry will close on September 16.
