Premier Recean: Let's mobilize to defeat electoral fraud

"We are experiencing an attack staged by criminal groups, which bought a lot of votes. That’s why it is important to mobilize to vote because our vote will defeat electoral fraud," Prime Minister Dorin Recean said after exercising his right to vote.

The official assured that the ballot "is already influenced by a fraudulent vote, and the Ministry of Interior and other responsible institutions are working to prevent the attack on our democracy."

"The leader who will guide us to prosperity and to the European Union is elected today. I voted for peace, freedom and to build our lives at home," stated Dorin Recean.

The runoff presidential election is taking place in the Republic of Moldova. The voting-eligible citizens are expected to go to the polls between 07:00 a.m. and 09:00 p.m. to elect the President who will serve a four-year term in office. The political battle involves Maia Sandu, who is supported by the Party of Action and Solidarity, and Alexandr Stoianoglo, the candidate of the Party of Socialists.
