Prime Minister Dorin Recean assured that the whole amount planned for pensioners in 2024 will reach the pensioners. “I refer to that discussion regarding 6%. I now ask the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and the Ministry of Finance to make sure that the pensioners with smaller pensions benefit from these increases the first,” the official said at Wednesday’s meeting of the Cabinet, without specifying what the indexation percentage will be, IPN reports.

According to the legislation, the pensions are indexed on April 1 to the inflation rate recorded at the end of the previous year. A few weeks ago, Minister of Labour and Social Protection Alexei Buzu announced that pensions this year will be indexed by 4.2%.
