Premier Recean about discussions with Gazprom

Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov is to discuss with Gazprom in St. Petersburg the changes in the management of Moldovagaz. The delivery of natural gas to the left bank of the Nistru in case Ukraine's infrastructure is affected or if Ukraine no longer allows the transit of gas through its territory will also be addressed, Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced in the program "Morning with Radio Moldova", IPN reports.

"Different scenarios can happen: either the gas infrastructure in Ukraine is affected, or the transit of gas is no longer allowed, there are alternative routes through which this gas can reach the left bank of the Nistru, in the Republic of Moldova. It is a subject that Minister Parlicov should discuss with those from Gazprom. Another topic that needs to be discussed is the changes in the management of Moldovagaz and, accordingly, we should agree with the members of the Supervisory Board on behalf of Gazprom so that these changes become effective," explained the head of the executive.

Asked what will happen if the approval of the new composition is rejected, Dorin Recean said that the Government has prepared a number of scenarios. "What is important is that we ensure the continuous work of Moldovagaz and the other energy enterprises in the country," stated the official.

In another development, the head of the executive said that there are currently no preconditions for decreasing the charges for the gas delivered to household consumers. Is important to ensure price stability and the Government is taking measures so that, whatever happens on the market, the consumers are not affected.
