The fight against corruption is the Government’s priority and a number of initiatives have been put forward in this respect, said Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici. He noted that the bill on the reformation of the prosecution service was approved last week. This week the Cabinet members are discussing corruption fighting measures used in different countries, especially Ukraine, Georgia and Poland, with a team of reformists, IPN reports.
The Premier reminded that the head of the National Anticorruption Directorate of Romania Laura Codruta Kovesi will pay a working visit to Chisinau next week. “I ask you all to become involved. While Missis Codruta Kovesi will be in Chisinau, we will have meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the National Anticorruption Center and the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the support of civil society is essential,” he said.
Chiril Gaburici informed that a meeting with representatives of civil society will be held on May 15 to identify the most acute problems and solutions to them.
