After 15 of the 60 voting reports were processed, independent candidate Arina Korshikova and Our Party’s candidate Alexandr Petkov are shown to have polled 24.48% and, respectively, 22.19% of the vote in the municipality of Balti, IPN reports.

The Party of Socialists’ candidate Maxim Moroshan comes third with 18.88% of the vote. The other candidates gained less than 11% of the ballot.

The mayoralty is won by the candidate who wins 50% of the poll + 1 vote. If none of the candidates gains over 50% of the ballot, a runoff vote is held with the first two candidates and the one who polls most of the votes becomes the winner in the runoffs.



In the Balti Municipal Council, after 10 of the 58 voting reports were processed, the results are as follows: PPPN – 25.90%, PSRM – 20.73%, PPFASM – 13.68%, PAS – 11.46%, PPPS – 7.14%, PR – 4.45%, PCRM – 3.46%. The other election contenders gained less than 2% of the vote.
