PPPDA will not field candidate for MP in Hâncești constituency

The Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” will not provide a candidate for MP in single-member constituency No. 38 Hâncești and will this way show commitment to its political creed and consistency in its actions, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the party. The reaction comes after Mihail Druță, who was proposed by the PPPDA to be the common candidate for MP of the pro-European and democratic forces in the March 15 elections in Hâncești, refused to run on behalf of one party only.

“The DA Platform regrets that the pro-European and national parties preferred to field their own candidate for this constituency without mutual coordination, deviating this way from the principles that ensured success in the parliamentary elections of 2019,” says the press release. Nevertheless, the PPPDA considers there is yet time for the pro-European parties to reconsider their stances and to accept a common candidate of the pro-European forces.

“As our proposal to engage the most brilliant candidates of the diaspora in the partial parliamentary elections in constituencies didn’t produce the expected results, we will further consult the people about the options for remedying this injustice for the next elections.”

Mihail Druță said that he will not run in the elections in Hâncești constituency of March 15 as he intended to compete as the common candidate of the PPPDA and the Party “Action and Solidarity” and also of at least two unionist parties.
