The Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) calls on the Cabinet and the parliamentary majority to amend the law on public finance so that the deductions from the income tax of private individuals to the budgets of district centers are raised from 50% to 100%, IPN reports.
PPPDA secretary general Liviu Vovc told a news conference that the towns that are district centers are discriminated and receive only half of the income tax of private individuals. If such amendments are made, Ialoveni town, for example, will benefit from an extra 19 million lei each year.
Also, the income tax of private individuals should be attached to the budget of the locality where the person lives. Today, these deductions are made in the locality where the person works.
The PPPDA also suggests that 50% of the income tax of private individuals should remain in the locality’s budget. Currently, no money in income tax is allocated for the development of localities.
According to the party, these amendments should be adopted as swiftly as possible so that the local budgets for 2024 are planned based on the new allocations.
