Some people within the Dignity and Truth Platform Party (PPDA) are sabotaging the party and will try to create a clone of PPDA in order to steal some of the votes that would normally go to its presidential candidate, PPDA deputy chairman Liviu Vovc told a press conference at IPN.

According to Vovc, after several media attacks against the party, now the infiltrated moles have started working as well. He says that some people left the party a few days ago, while another group is trying to attract leaders of district organizations into a new party they promised to launch soon.

The PPDA deputy chairman says that these people will soon “reveal” that the money collected by the protest movement Dignity and Truth Civic Platform were spent on a luxury car or for funding the publishing of a book. Liviu Vovc urged the people to disregard the lies that will be spread about the party.

Sergiu Cibotareanu, head of the party’s Botanica sector organization, said that he was personally invited by these people to join their new party. “We think they are trying to create a clone party”, he explained. According to him, these attacks began when PPDA leader Andrei Nastase announced his intention to run for president and most of the denigrations target him. “We will stand our ground and will stick to the goal of ensuring a future for the people in this country”, said Cibotareanu.

Liviu Vovc and Sergiu Cibotareanu added that the people sabotaging the party have been noticed by the party’s ethics committee and will be removed from PPDA at the next meeting of its political committee. They also advised other party members who do not share its values to quit the party willingly.
