The week begins with new power cuts in the Transnistrian region. Locals will not have power for 6 hours. The authorities recommend removing all electrical appliances from sockets before the power is turned off in order to prevent their damage as a result of possible overvoltage, IPN reports.
The calls to the hotline of the so-called Ministry of Interior do not stop. A third of the applicants ask for firewood.
The Transnistrian press informs the population about the optimal time intervals for the use of electrical appliances and methods of reducing electricity consumption.
For six days, the Transnistrians have been living in conditions of energy crisis. The first victims caused, in one way or another, by this situation appeared. Two pensioners died of carbon monoxide poisoning while using an old stove. Two other people became victims of a fire caused by a fan heater.
A meeting of the crisis cell, chaired by the local leader Vadim Krasnoselsky, is scheduled to take place on Monday in Tiraspol.
TSV Prednistrovie said that the crisis cell is to take decisions about the educational process and will consider extending the winter vacation until January 20. Meanwhile, within parents' groups, teachers conduct surveys to see if the students are willing to study remotely, the Transnistrian press reported.
