Almost half of the respondents of a poll (49%) consider the future President must be rather a politician, while 29% think this should be a technocrat. Each fifth interviewed person was unable to answer this question, shows a sociological survey carried out by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers between September 19 and 30, IPN reports.
Asked about the most important external characteristics for the political image of the future President, over 1/3 of those surveyed (34%) said the Head of State must first of all make the impression of a confident person.28% said the President must be able to bring confidence and affection, each fourth respondent noted the appearance is important, while 19% mentioned the ability of speaking fluently.
Also, 63% of those polled want the office of President to be held by a man and only 15% by a woman. For 13% of those questioned. the candidate’s sex does not matter.
Only 48% of the respondents said the direct election of the Head of State will contribute to solving very important social problems. Each fifth respondent has an opposite opinion and considers that the problems will worsen, while 27% of those surveyed believe no essential changes will occur in society. 5% could not pronounce on the issue.
47% of the respondents consider the electoral frauds influence a lot the final election outcome, 32% – considerably, while each ninth interviewed person said only a little. Only 1% of those polled consider the frauds cannot influence the election results at all. 9% could not formulate an opinion.
About 1/3 of those polled (31.8%) believe the elections are rigged long before the election day, each fifth respondent said this is done during the election campaign, while 12% consider this is done on the election day. 9% said the vote is rigged during the vote count, while 7% – when reports are compiled.
The survey covered a sample of 1,165 people older than 18 from 79 communities of Moldova, except for the Transnistrian region. The margin of sampling error is + 3.0%.
