Lines of over 100 people were reported at each of the two polling stations established at Moldova’s Embassy in the Russian Federation and also in France, at polling station No. 38/36 in 1 Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an increased number of citizens have been waiting to exercise their right to vote at some of the polling stations in Romania, Greece, Italy, and Turkey, where queues of 50 to 100 people formed.

These are polling stations No 38/73 in Athens 2, Greece; 38/124 in Modena, Italy; 38/179 in Bucharest 2 (consular section), Romania, as well as polling station No. 38/180 in Bucharest 3.

Queues of up to 100 people were also formed at polling stations No. 38/189 in Galati, 38/191 in Sibiu, 38/193 in Timisoara and 38/228 in Istanbul (consulate general), Turkey.

The Central Election Commission decided to open 231 polling stations abroad for the October 20 presidential election and the referendum on joining the EU. The largest number of polling stations - 60 - were established in Italy, followed by Germany, France, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the U.A., and Romania.

For polling stations abroad, the CEC printed 852,200 ballots for each type of ballot, IPN reports.
