Some 79% of the respondents of an opinion poll consider things in Moldova go wrong. This figure is the highest one since 2004. In December 2011 and January 2012, this percentage was 73% and 74% respectively. Now only 13% of those polled think Moldova follows a correct way. Most of the respondents want serious reforms. The poll was commissioned by the International Republican Institute, IPN reports.

Asked about the biggest problems of the country, over 30% of those surveyed mentioned corruption, almost 30% - the low salaries and pensions, while 26% - the unemployment. When emphasis was placed on corruption, almost 90% of the respondents said that this is a major problem, this figure being the highest one in the last 11 years.

Over 60% of those polled disapprove of the way the country is governed. 78% consider the Ministry of Finance does not do its job, 77% said this about the Ministry of Economy, while 74% about the Ministry of Justice.

Over 50% of the respondents have confidence in the church, 42% - in the mass media, while 35% - in the army. The Government, Parliament, the political parties and the President are trusted the least.

Asked what is the biggest problem faced by their community, 45% of those sampled complained about the quality of roads, 18% about unemployment, while 12% about dirtiness.

71% of the respondents said the country needs serious reforms. Last year this figure stood at under 60%. 66% of those surveyed are completely dissatisfied with the way Moldova develops democracy, while 55% would prefer a powerful economy instead of developed democracy. 42% of those polled consider the economic situation in Moldova in the past 12 months has worsened.

The poll was carried out by Magenta Consulting in the period between September 29 and October 21. It covered a sample of 1,500 persons. The margin of sampling error is at most 2.8%.
