Political stalemate derived from absolutely differing interests of parties, opinion on TVR

Political pundit Anatol Țăranu said the current political stalemate derived from the absolutely differing interests of the political parties. According to him, the interest of the Bloc ACUM is to try and promote its political program at a time when it does not have sufficient resources for implementing this program by itself. The Party of Socialists predictably struggles for President Igor Dodon, who is the party’s main resource, electoral driving force and political capital that helped the party reached the current position and the PSRM’s projects are closely connected with Igor Dodon, IPN reports.

“The election of the Parliament Speaker means removal of Igor Dodon from the offside where he found himself because the Constitutional Court interpreted the President’s prerogatives in a particular way. A Socialist Speaker would mean that Igor Dodon would become a very active political personality with very big powers even if the Socialists do not dominate Parliament now,” Anatol Țăranu stated in the program “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel.

Bloc ACUM MP Oazu Nantoi said the Bloc was the first to propose starting the de-oligarchization of the country before forming any coalition. “In other words, the leader of the PDM Vladimir Plahotniuc should be deprived of the instruments of control over the state institutions. Later we will be ready to negotiate any combination. Where did the idea of a minority Government come from? Not because snap elections are wanted? We are not afraid, but realize that the voters do not want snap elections and these evections may not change the situation essentially,” stated the MP.

Oazu Nantoi noted he suggested creating working groups for technical negotiations in the absence of journalists so as to later make public the compromise, if it was reached, but the Socialists rejected the proposal. Time is lost as no responsible negotiations are now held between the Bloc ACUM and the PSRM. “If snap elections are induced, this will be the political responsibility of the PSRM,” he said.

The Party of Socialists’ jurist Fadei Nagachevski said the PSRM imposed a number of conditions, with the election of the Parliament Speaker from among the Socialists being the key condition. The Bloc ACUM maintains that this post cannot be conceded to the Socialists. “They consider the post of Speaker belongs to them. ACUM demands to adopt their de-oligarchization laws and, afterward, if the PSRM wants, they could form a Government of the Bloc ACUM. In such conditions, what should we negotiate with the groups of the Bloc ACUM?” wondered Fadei Nagachevski. He added that if ACUM votes a Socialist Speaker, the Socialists the same day will vote the anti-oligarchic package proposed by ACUM.
