Corneliu Ciurea, expert of the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul”, considers the head of state must have the final say. “The Constitutional Court offered the possibility for a parliamentary majority to attack the President. The head of state must have his own position,” he stated.

The head of the Public Association “Justice and Democracy” Pavel Midrigan said the developments around the candidate for premiership are the result of a struggle for power. “A harsh struggle is given for obtaining complete power. There are two essential factors in this struggle. The first factor is the President’s position. The second factor is the composition of the parliamentary majority that could be formed,” said the jurist.

Anatol Taranu, director of the Center for Political Research and Consultancy “Politicon”, considers the Socialist opposition and the Platform “Dignity and Truth” should have a say in the process of designating the Prime Minister. “The Platform “Dignity and Truth” has a great say and it if does not use it at the right moment, it will suffer disadvantages,” he stated.

Former Communist MP Alexandr Petcov believes things develop according to a plan worked out by a narrow circle of people who are political criminals. “We are witnessing a political robbery,” he stated.
