Some of the analysts consider snap elections will take place because the political forces cannot reach a compromise to form a parliamentary majority. Others are almost sure that a consensus will be achieved on the last 100 meters and a new Government will be formed, IPN reports.

“WatchDog” expert Valeriu Pașa considers snap legislative elections will be held. He said such elections are even necessary because what happened on February 24 cannot be called elections. “We need normal elections and this is important. Not who wins or who will come to power is important. It is important that this Parliament should represent the people’s will expressed at free, democratic elections held in accordance with elementary standards,” stated the expert, adding the Socialists and the Bloc ACUM should agree on short-term cooperation so as to ensure good conditions for holding the polls.

Political pundit Corneliu Ciurea said he is not absolutely sure that snap parliamentary elections will take place. As to the fact that representatives of the Democratic Party practically make no public statements about the created post-electoral situation, he noted the PDM will make statements when it has what to say. “It seems there is no decision yet. It hasn’t been yet taken in the final form. However, I hope there will be an alliance as the snap elections will produce no result. As such a decision is not definitive, they say nothing as they do not have what to say,” Corneliu Ciurea stated in the program “Friday with Anatolie Golea” on RTR Moldova.

The Party of Socialists’ jurist Fadei Nagacevskii said no situational coalition will ever offer quality in Moldova. This is always a destabilizing factor because each project in case of a situational coalition should be discussed separately and will never bring a benefit. “The expert community and jurists say if the new Government is not invested on June 9, snap elections will take place. We do not have what to discuss now. There is a judgement passed by the Constitutional Court,” he noted.
