The political affiliation in the local elections counted less and the leaders of the parliamentary parties should take this aspect into account when forming alliances. Such opinions were stated in the talk show “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.
Political analyst Olga Nicolenco considers that they voted mainly nominally, not based on party criteria in the June 14 local elections, except for Chisinau. “In the second round of the elections in Chisinau, the PDM and PLDM should support the PL’s candidate Dorin Chirtoaca. The two parties must form an alliance with other pro-European parties, including the PPEM. The PDM and PLDM should avoid alliances with Communists, which produced no results earlier,” she stated.
Director of the Chisinau Marketing and Polls Institute Doru Petrutsi said voting in the local elections is based on some criteria, while in the parliamentary elections - on other criteria. “In the local elections, they take into account the problems of the community and vote for the person who can solve those problems. In the parliamentary elections, they take into account the political factor. The image of the PLDM and PDM worsened as a result of the local elections. The leaders of the two parties should have taken into account the results of the Bashkan elections in Gagauzia and the fact that the northern districts support Renato Usatyi. Now a lot depends on the results of the second round of mayoral elections in Chisinau,” he stated.
Former heavyweight of the Party of Socialists Valentin Krylov said that in the other settlements the people voted for persons, while in Chisinau – the residents voted based on the criterion of ethnicity and geopolitically. “The situation is difficult. The political choice in the capital city will influence the future parliamentary elections,” he stated.
