Policemen of 4 states have identified an international criminal group, stealing expensive items exposed at online auctions. Three Moldovans are among them. The head of the MAI Trans-Border and Information Offences Department, Viorel Chetraru, stated at a press conference that the stealing scheme was very simple. The group members from were providing payment guarantees of ordered items of an inexistent insurance company created by this group. At the moment the victims were found and the way the valuable objects disappeared, it was not known that Moldovan citizens were involved in this group. The policemen’s attention was drawn by a parcel arrived from USA, which was not picked up for a long time. For the moment, Viorel Chetraru notes, it is known that there were sent about 50 such parcels, 22 of them were already identified. Golden and platinum objects, decorated with diamonds, are among them. The amount of identified objects gets over 250,000 dollars. He highlighted that the circle of the members of the criminal group might be broader. If they are found guilty, the suspects risk from 10 to 25 years imprisonment.
