Police officers sent to jail for using torture

Three police officers got by three years for ill-treating two men, IPN has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office.

In December 2011, two employees of the Patrol and Sentinel Regiment “Scut” and an officer of the Special Police Brigade “Fulger” were called to a bar in Durlesti town. When on the spot, the policemen found two men who had been immobilized by employees of a guard agency.

The police officers sprayed the men’s eyes with tear gas and then kicked them all over the bodies. The victims suffered rib fractures and head injury.

The court decision is not yet definitive.
