Police hold „Seat-Belt – Rescue Your Life” operation in March
The traffic police in Chisinau and Moldova in general hold an operation called „Fasten the Seat-Belt – Rescue Your Life” in March.
The inspector of the traffic security, administrative supervision and public relations service in the Chisinau Traffic Police Department,
Ion Roscovanu, has stated to Info-Prim Neo that the fastening of the seat-belt is an obligation of motorists and passengers from the right seat in the front of the car. The motorists who execute a back driving manoeuvres, instructors of driving schools, drivers of automobiles with priority traffic regime during a service mission must not fasten the seat-belt.
Roscovanu noted that an analysis of competent services of the Traffic Police Department demonstrates that the fastened seat-belt rescue the life of the guilt persons in 85-90 percent of traffic accidents. As much as 12.2 percent of 100 victims of traffic accident would not have died, if they fastened the seat-belt. The fine for such a violation is from 0.5 percent up to a minimal salary.
Traffic inspectors fined 76 motorists for not fastening the seat-belt in the past two days during the „Fasten the Seat-Belt – Rescue Your Life”.
