The police arrested a suspect in the case of the death of the teenage girl from Mateuti village of Rezina district, who was found dead in a precipice on the outskirts of the settlement two days ago. The General Police Inspectorate announced that this is a man aged 21 from the same village, IPN reports.

According to the police, the suspect admitted that in the evening of November 18, being under the influence of alcohol together with the girl, he had sex with her on the environs of the village. At a certain moment, a quarrel started between the two and the suspect punched her in the head and left her to lie there. The next day, as he heard nothing of the girl, he returned to that place and found her dead there. Scared, he covered the body with clothes, leaves and earth and left the crime scene.

The girl aged 16 went to visit relatives on November 15 and didn’t return. Her grandmother informed the police that her granddaughter went missing on November 18. The girl’s body was found by a villager, who informed the police. The girl didn’t have the right arm, while her internal organs had been eaten by dogs.

The suspect is investigated for deliberate murder. He faces 15 to 20 years behind bars or life imprisonment.

Last January, a teenage girl from Balanesti village of Nisporeni district was found dead in a wood between the villages Paruceni and Bolduresti of Nisporeni district. The girl was raped and killed by a young man who got 20 years for this crime.
