The Republic of Poland will continue to support the European course and the modernization reforms in the Republic of Moldova, stated the Minister of Investment and Economic Development of Poland Jerzy Kwiecinski, who is in Chisinau on a visit. In a meeting with Prime Minister Pavel Filip, the Polish minister underlined the importance of continuing the Moldovan-Polish cooperation, expressing t interest in extending the presence of Polish investments in Moldova’s economy, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.
For his part, Pavel Filip welcomed the Polios financial support provided as part of the Development Assistance Program. The Republic of Moldova was declared a priority country for Polish development assistance in such areas as good governance, regional and rural development and agriculture. During 15 years, Poland has implemented 264 projects to the value of €15 million in Moldova.
The Premier encouraged the Polish investors to buy denationalized enterprises in Moldova and to invest in Free Economic Zones and the IT Park “Tekwill”. “The Government I have the honor of managing is a “pro-business” one and we implemented a series of reforms to support the business community and attract investment. The effort we made opened up the door to potential investors that we treat with maximum attention,” stated Pavel Filip.
He thanked the Polish Government for the support offered to the Republic of Moldova within the European institutions as one of the states that initiated the Eastern Partnership.
There are now 102 joint Moldovan-Polish enterprises in Moldova. The polish investments amount to 227 million lei.
