The National Moldovan Party calls for the immediate expulsion of Russian Ambassador Oleg Ozerov "for illegal activities that jeopardize the security of the Republic of Moldova". According to the NPM, Ozerov, who has been appointed ambassador, has not presented his credentials to the Moldovan Presidency, and without this official document he has no right to present himself as ambassador and to carry out diplomatic activities on the territory of the country, IPN reports.
According to PNM leader Dragos Galbur, Oleg Ozerov's visits to the Transnistrian region without the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and without complying with the legal framework are a serious violation of the Moldovan legislation.
"These dangerous actions support separatism and pose a direct threat to national security. Moreover, his presence in ATU Gagauzia recently, where he falsely presented himself as ambassador, is a clear attempt to create tensions and destabilization," Dragos Galbur claims.
The PNM leader says that through his repeated meetings with the leaders of the separatist regime in Tiraspol and his statements questioning the integrity of the Republic of Moldova, Oleg Ozerov has demonstrated his intention to sabotage the rule of law and to provoke instability in the region.
The NPM calls on the Moldovan authorities to expel Ozerov immediately for activities incompatible with his status and Moldovan law. It also calls for "the prohibition of any illegal actions carried out by the Embassy of the Russian Federation which violate the rules of the Republic of Moldova and international diplomatic custom".
