Moldovan-Ukrainian cooperation in the context of the common goal of joining the European Union was discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean with the new Ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova Paun Rohovei, IPN reports.
"By integrating into the European family, both peoples will gain a more prosperous, more civilized future. And a wider European Union means greater prosperity and security," Dorin Recean said, quoted in a press release.
The officials highlighted the efficiency of the cooperation format between the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Romania. The priority areas of interest are energy, infrastructure, expansion of the transport network through the construction of a bridge over the Nistru, information and cyber security. Another goal is to increase investments to build defense systems’ resilience.
New initiatives will also be promoted in the fields of culture and education so that Ukrainian refugees can easily integrate into Moldova and preserve their traditions and culture.
Premier Recean once again underlined Ukraine's courage and sacrifice in the face of Russia's unjustified aggression, noting that the neighboring country ensures the security of the entire region.
For his part, Ambassador Rohovei said that the Republic of Moldova is a true friend, emphasizing the support offered to refugees and the political support provided to the Ukrainian state at international level.
