Tudor Deliu, who is the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova’s candidate in this year’s presidential elections, submitted the documents to the CEC for having the party’s initiative group for collecting signatures in support of the candidate registered.

“I submitted the documents for having the initiative group registered. As any normal person, I suffer from nerves. It is impossible not to be worried when entering such an important process for oneself and for the Republic of Moldova,” stated Tudor Deliu, being quoted by IPN.

Asked if he will manage to collect at least 15,000 signatures, as the Election Code provides, he said the voters will decide who to give their support to. “As a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, I think I have the right to run for this post,” stated Tudor Deliu.

The documents needed for registering initiative groups in support of candidates for President of the Republic of Moldova can be submitted to the Central Election Commission between September 1 and September 11.

Tudor Deliu, who headed the PLDM in 2018-2020, was nominated as the party’s candidate in the November 1 president elections by the PLDM’s National Political Council on August 28, as a result of consultations with the local organizations.
