If parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, the PLDM would gain over 28% of the vote, says a sociological survey that was presented by the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul”. The PCRM would poll slightly over 26% of the ballot, the PDM – 12.5%, while the PL – 6.2%, Info-prim Neo reports.
According to the survey, Premier Vlad Filat is trusted by 64% of the Moldovans, Speaker Marian Lupu by 53%, the leader of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin by 41%, while Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca by 25%.
Asked how they will vote if a referendum on joining the EU was held next Sunday, 62% of the over 1,500 respondents said they would vote in favor. As to the term during which Moldova could achieve this objective, 31% of those polled said it can happen within five years, while 21% said during five to ten years.
Asked if Moldova goes in the right or wrong direction, 44% of those polled said the direction is wrong, while 41% said it is right. The rest could not give an answer.
The survey was carried out by the Marketing and Polling Institute IMAS at the suggestion and in cooperation with the Institute “Vitorul” during March 6-27. It covered a sample of 1,507 persons older than 18 from 112 settlements of Moldova, except Transnistria. The margin of sampling error is ± 2.5%.
