PLDM wonders who is afraid of Prime Minister’s inspection, PL blame the procedure
PLDM doesn’t understand the Liberals’ reaction to the proposal to create a control body subordinated to the Prime Minister, which would be meant to inspect the activity of the central public administration. The Liberal-Democrats wonder what the bill’s opponents are afraid of. On the other hand, PL claims there are procedure violations, Info-Prim Neo reports.
PLDM group leader Valeriu Strelet explained that the difference regarding this bill wasn’t an argument as the press speculated, but a democratic exercise. “We were surprised that the bill isn’t accepted, because the issue was previously discussed within the Alliance Council. The creation of this control body within the State Chancellery is included in the governance program. We expected this bill to be adopted without delays”.
The MP says that the Prime Minister doesn’t need this law to be implemented at the end of his mandate. “Time is running and we need to see how the Government’s decisions are executed. The control body has no investigation and prosecution powers, but only notifies about some situations and when the decisions aren’t carried out it comes up with proposals. Those who are afraid of this institution should ask themselves the questions: what are they afraid of?”, asked Valeriu Strelet.
PL group leader Ion Hadarca admits that the idea of creating a control body of the Government is stipulated in the governance program and is liked by the Liberals. “We didn’t like the procedure, which we deem unfair, of amending the Government Law in order to stipulate the creation of this institution, without a having a regulation at hand. It was proposed for this regulation to be approved by the Government, which is twice unfair. First, we don’t have such a document and second, it should be at least consulted with us. The procedure itself raised many doubts. We demanded for light to be shed in this case”.
The bill stipulating the creation of a control body subordinated to the Prime Minister caused some arguments between the MPs of the Alliance for European integration. Nonetheless, it was included on the agenda of next week’s meetings of Parliament.
