The Central Political Bureau of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PCRM) withdrew the political support enjoyed by MP Veaceslav Ionita. The decision was taken on August 19, but was made public only now, in a PLDM statement responding to the accusations made by Ionita against the Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat.

According to the statement, the political support was withdrawn following Veaceslav Ionita’s acts aimed at economically sabotaging Moldova.

Vlad Filat announced that Veaceslav Ionita is to be dismissed from the post of chairman of the parliamentary commission on economy, budget and finance in the legislative body’s first sitting of the new session.

Now that Ionita was excluded, the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group consists of 30 persons.
