The rector of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova Grigore Belostecinic, the head of the National Olympic Committee Nicolae Juravski and businessman Kiril Luchinski, the son of the former President of Moldova, are new names on the Liberal Democratic Party's list of candidates for the November 28 legislative elections that was lodged with the Central Election Commission (CE) today, Info-Prim Neo reports. The PLDM starts the election campaign with the slogan “Moldova Without Poverty”. In the 2009 elections, the Liberal-Democrats had the slogan “Moldova without Communists”. The party's leader, Prime Minister Vlad Filat heads the list. The first ten candidates include three of the six Liberal-Democrat ministers of the Filat Cabinet – Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase (second), Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca (fifth), and Minister of Health Vladimir Hotineanu (seventh). The first ten also include the leader of the Liberal-Democrat parliamentary group Mihai Godea (third), Deputy Speaker Iurie Tap (ninth), and Liliana Palihovich, chairwoman of the parliamentary commission for social protection, health and family. Vlad Filat said the party he leads does not have enemies in this election campaign, only partners, who are the citizens of Moldova. According to him, all the Liberal-Democrats in the campaign will center on intense communication with the people. “I'm confident that the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova will have the best results in elections. After the elections, the PLDM together with the parties with which we have governed until now will constitute the state institutions, elect the head of state and the administration of the Parliament, form a Government that will make Moldova a democratic country,” he said. The PLDM might be the 13th in ballots. Asked if this number does not scare him, Vlad Filat said the Liberal Democratic Party aims to be the first in elections and the place in ballots does not count much.
