The post of Head of Parliament must be held by the PDM. But the formation of the new Government is a more important matter now. Opinions on the issue were stated by the head of the Democratic parliamentary group Dumitru Diacov and the leader of the Liberal-Democrats in Parliament Valeriu Strelet in the program “Fabrika” on PublikaTV channel, IPN reports.

Dumitru Diacov said the former alliance colleagues are holding negotiations to form a new Government and the election of the Speaker will be probably discussed in the next rounds. He also said that he asked European Commissioner Stefan Fule what will happen if the new Government is not voted in. The European official answered that Moldova should better forget such a scenario.

Valeriu Strelet said the appointment of the Speaker is not a matter of urgency as the installation of the new Government and the ensuring of a climate of political consistency are more important. “There are all the preconditions needed to vote in the Head of Parliament. We will discuss only the distribution of seats in the executive, not yet in Parliament. The situation at a number of institutions must be clarified,” he added.

As to the negotiations on the creation of a new Cabinet, Valeriu Strelet said the future agreement on the constitution of a parliamentary majority will bring new elements for the next executive. Thus, every minister will be able to choose the team with which to work. Earlier, the responsibilities were distributed in a tendentious way. Of the 31 articles of the new agreement, 21 are yet to be discussed, while a part of the provisions must be reformulated and improved.
