The post of President of Moldova cannot be offered to a political party, says the agreement on the formation of the Political Alliance for a European Moldova. The document was made public on January 26, IPN reports.

The accord provides that in order to prevent blockages and political crises deriving from the non-election of the head of state, the sides will set up a commission of experts within 30 days of the creation of the alliance. The commission will include representatives designated by the European development partners, who will formulate recommendations and solutions for electing the new President of Moldova, when the tenure of the current head of state expires.

The agreement was signed by the PLDM and PDM on January 23.
