PLDM and PDM adjust their strategies and in autumn will test their slogans

The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and the Democratic Party (PDM) are adjusting their strategies and in autumn will test their slogans for the next elections of 2014. Political analyst Viorel Cibotaru considers that the leaders of these parties, Vlad Filat and Marian Lupu, resigned themselves to their removal from important posts and focused on the management of the parties, IPN reports.

“Certainly, both of the parties work on the strategic plan for coming to power. There is also a need to sum up certain things,” said the analyst. Viorel Cibotaru considers the restructuring in the PDM, which decided to create 13 special departments, follows the dissatisfaction with the way representatives of the party react to people’s needs. As to the PLDM, it became less popular with the voters and is now looking for immediate tasks.

“They need a new image. They probably plan to make the last rebranding before the pre-election campaign in the congress,” said the analyst, adding that both of the parties showed that they are dynamic, are not stagnant and treat the parties’ future very seriously.

“It is not yet a genuine campaign, but the parties are looking for slogans. In autumn, these new slogans will be tested by different polls, activities, conferences, seminars, and congresses. It is already an art how the election campaigns should be prepared, not just a technology,” stated Viorel Cibotaru.

In a meeting of the National Political Council last Friday, the PDM decided to set up 13 special departments that will be managed by a deputy chairman of the party. One day later, the PLDM also convened its National Political Council and decided that the party’s Congress, where a new political program will be discussed, will be held in December.
