PLDM accuse Communists of lack of ideas, PCRM complains of being provoked
Liberal-Democratic MPs claim that the Communists are short of ideas and don’t know to promote their party. On the other side, the Communists complain that the Liberal-Democrats provoke them and show no respect. The MPs’ reactions come after today’s incident during the Parliament’s meeting, when Liberal-Democrat Alexandru Cimbriciuc tussled with Communist MP Iurie Muntean, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The PLDM group issued a press statement, expressing regret over the incident. “Our group condemns the violent reactions and regrets that the Communist lawmakers don’t know other communication methods than those showing aggressiveness. Unfortunately, this is not the first case when MPs from the PCRM group, especially Iurie Muntean, cause scuffles right in the meeting hall of the Legislative. This indicates a severe lack of ideas among the party’s leaders, who try to promote their image and attract public attention only through scandals and violence”, reads the PLDM statement.
Communist lawmaker Sergiu Sarbu told Info-Prim Neo that the PLDM statement tries to justify an intolerable act committed by its MPs, who abused verbally the PCRM group at several meetings. “The incident was caused by PLDM MPs. Alexandru Cimbriciuc was the one who insulted us. These actions could not remain unanswered. The colleagues wanted to talk, but he roughly pushed lawmakers Oleg Reidman and Iurie Muntean. It was a clear provocation from PLDM. It is impossible to tolerate anymore such an attitude and lack of respect from other MPs”, said Sergiu Sarbu.
Thursday’s meeting of the Parliament was marked by a scuffle between several MPs. The Communists demanded the head of the Court of Accounts to present a report on the Prime Minister’s travel expenses, claiming that Vlad Filat spent public funds traveling on party duties. Head of the PLDM group Valeriu Strelet said that the trips paid for from the state budget were only in the interest of the country and that the Communists should undergo medical examination if they ask such questions. Strelet added that his last words were only in jest, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the conflict.
