The Cabinet approved the plan of action for 2017-2020 for implementing the strategy for strengthening the interethnic relations in the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports. The document was drafted based on the principles of participation, non-discrimination, transparency and gender equality.

The plan defines the objectives for the first of the three strategy implementation stages. The measures cover four areas, namely public life; language as a means of integration; intercultural dialogue and civic affiliation to the Republic of Moldova; mass-media.

The authorities will take action to encourage the equal participation by all the citizens in state administration and public service. Preconditions will be created for intercultural education and measures will be taken to ensure the protection and development of the languages of national minorities.

A sum of 4.7 million lei was earmarked for implementing the plan. The money will be allocated from the state budget and foreign funds, in the limits of the available resources.
