The head of the Liberal Party (PL) Mihai Ghimpu said that his party is ready to give a vote of no confidence to President Nicolae Timofti if he accepts Vlad Filat as a candidate for premiership. Moreover, the PL is ready to vote together with the Communist Party (PCRM) or any other party in favor of such a vote, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, Mihai Ghimpu said the head of state must realize the responsibility he has at this crucial moment and that he cannot propose Vlad Filat for the post of Prime Minister when Parliament gave a vote of no confidence to him. Nicolae Timofti must convince Vlad Filat and the Liberal Democratic Party not to insist on his candidacy because this means early elections. “If the head of state insists on putting forward Mister Filat and extends and deepens this crisis that is to our detriment and keeps us far from the European Union, he should assume responsibility. We will give a vote of no confidence and will vote together with the Communists. In this case, I will use all the methods possible to defend the people and the state. It will be a vote of no confidence for his affiliation to a political party, not to the people. I will forgive no one and will vote with anyone,” said Mihai Ghimpu. The three ruling leaders didn’t reach an agreement for overcoming the political crisis after the March 6 meeting with President Nicolae Timofti. The head of state said the dialogue between the heads of the three parties will continue and, when they reach an agreement, they will inform him so that they hold other meetings.
