The team of the Tiraspol Teacher Training University PGU became the second finalist of the national women’s volleyball championship. The team trained by Valentin Funica beat Speranta Chisinau 3-2 in the decisive match of the second semifinal, IPN reports.
PGU led after the first set, but the hosts recovered shortly and won the next two sets. The girls from Tiraspol didn’t give up and managed to draw. In the decisive set, the team from Transnistria was luckier and won by 15-13. “Our wish to win was greater. After the match played in Tiraspol last Sunday, the girls became more courageous and realized that they can qualify,” said the coach of PGU Tiraspol Valentin Funica.
In the final, PGU Tiraspol meets current champion USM Chisinau. The team that will score three victories will become the winner.
