Petru Rotaru, proposed First Deputy Governor of the National Bank

Former finance minister Petru Rotaru is to be promoted from deputy governor to first deputy governor of the National Bank of Moldova, IPN reports.

The proposal comes from the head of the NBM, Anca Dragu. The proposal states that Petru Rotaru meets the special requirements of the law, namely: he is a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, has higher education, a good reputation and at least 10 years of experience in the financial sector.

The draft, to be considered by Parliament, provides for the appointment as First Deputy Governor of the NBM, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board for a seven-year term.

A draft on the appointment of Mihnea Constantinescu as Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Moldova and member of the Executive Board for a term of seven years is also registered in the legislature.
