Petrocub demolished Speranța 4-1 in the most important match of the 13th stage of the National Division. The hosts were leading 2-0 before the break owing to the goals scored by Artiom Puntus and Vadim Gulceac, IPN reports.

After the break, Victor Mudrac took the score to 3-0, but the top scorer of the championship Maxim Iurcu reduced the difference. Petrocub won yet a clear-cut victory after Vadim Gulceac scored his second goal. “I think it was our best match this season,” Petrocub coach Lilian Popescu told a news conference.

Petrocub remains one point behind Milsami, which beat Dinamo-Auto 3-1. Alexandru Antoniuc opened the score in the 14th minute with a penalty kick. Ion Ibrian and Artur Crăciun also scored for the hosts in the first half. After the break, Dinamo-Auto scored the victory goal through Andrei Cobeț.

Sfîntul Gheorghe, which beat Zimbru 2-0, ranks second. Andrei Calac opened the score in the 15th minute, while Alexandru Boiciuc doubled the advantage towards the end of the match.

In Chisinau, Codru lost to the leading Sheriff 0-2. Belarusian player Yuri Kendysh scored two goals, in the 27th and 55th minutes. Sheriff keops the advantage of eight points over Sfîntul Gheorghe.
