Persons with hepatitis will receive free treatment at “Toma Ciorba” Hospital

All the persons with viral hepatitis that earlier received treatment at the National Clinical Hospital from March will benefit from free treatment at the Infectious Diseases Hospital “Toma Ciorba”. This way, the Ministry of Health aims to facilitate access to antiviral treatment, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the Ministry, the medicines needed for treatment were already transferred to “Toma Ciorba” Hospital. The lists of patients who benefit from this treatment and the list of waiting patients were also transferred.

Currently, over 360 patients are receiving treatment against viral hepatitis B, C and D. The waiting list includes over 1,300 persons.

According to statistics, about 3,000 persons die annually in Moldova because of viral hepatitis, while 200 become invalids.
