Perpetrator of Lukoil bomb hoax has been arrested

The person who made a bomb-hoax call from a public phone on February 18, claiming that the headquarters of Lukoil Moldova had been mined, is a 30-year-old Chisinau woman, according to the police. The woman claimed she did it to express her anger at the recent increase in fuel prices, Info-Prim Neo reports. Adrian Jomvir, spokesperson for the General Police Commissariat, said the woman was surprised that the police found her so fast. She is undergoing criminal proceedings after being released on unconditional bail. The woman faces a fined of 4,000 to 10,000 lei or up to 2 years' imprisonment. Lukoil Moldova's staff were evacuated on February 18 on information that a bomb had been planted in the building. The threat proved to be a hoax. From the beginning of the year, there have been registered 4 false bomb threats. In three cases the suspected perpetrators were identified and arrested.
