The government has approved a draft law providing for a 10% pension indexation starting April 1. On average, pensions will increase by 395 lei, benefiting 672,000 pensioners, IPN reports.

"The minimum pension has increased 2.5 times during this government's mandate, and the average pension has nearly doubled. The minimum pension has risen from 1,188 lei to 3,055 lei as of April 1, 2025, while the average pension has increased from 2,255 lei to 4,407 lei," said Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu.

On April 1, pensions will be indexed by 10%. The indexation coefficient will apply only to the portion of the pension that does not exceed the forecasted average monthly salary for the economy in 2025, which is set at 16,100 lei.
