The pensions will be indexed by 10.1% from April 1. A decision to this effect was taken in the March 12 meeting of the Cabinet, IPN reports.

The indexation percentage was calculated based on the 10.5% rise in the average official salary and the 9.7% increase in the consumer price index in 2015, compared with 2014. All the types of pensions will be indexed, including the old age, seniority and disability pensions.

The pensions of MPs, members of the Cabinet, public servants, local elected officials, former prosecutors and customs employees will also be indexed, but only the part that is paid from the state social insurance budget.

Thus, the minimum old age pension for agriculture workers will be 844.71 lei, while for the other recipients of pensions – 948.84 lei. The pension for the first invalidity degree will be 675.02 lei, for the second degree – 651.84 lei, while for the third degree - 459 lei.

About 680,000 persons will have their pensions indexed this year.
