A pensioner from Bender municipality was found dead in her apartment. Arriving at the scene, rescuers found that it smelled of natural gas in the house, IPN reports.
The 68-year-old woman was lying on the floor in one of the rooms. In the house, the stove was turned on at a low flame. The woman, who lived alone, used the stove to keep warm.
The press in the Transnistrian region reported that since January 1, 17 people got poisoned by gases and two cases resulted in death.
In another case, in Dondușeni district, three children of a family from Scăieni village were hospitalized after they got poisoned with products of combustion emitted by the heating stove. The condition of the children is stable and they are out of any danger, said the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
According to the Inspectorate’s data, the four cases of poisoning with products of combustion reported so far this year affected 10 people, including 8 minors.
