Paediatricians from the consultative departments of district hospitals will be transferred to primary health care institutions. The specialists will work alongside family doctors starting on March 1, as decreed by Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco.

All children aged 0-5 years will be under the permanent supervision of a pediatrician, not just the family doctor. Those up to 18 years old who suffer from chronic diseases, are frequently sick or have disabilities will also be under the supervision of a pediatrician. Children will have free access to a pediatrician’s consultation, without a referral from the family doctor.

The pediatricians will get a salary supplement for these activities.
