Pediatrician Mihai Stratulat joins PSDE

The former vice-president of the People's Power Party, pediatrician Mihai Stratulat, has joined the Party of European Social Democrats (PSDE) in Moldova, IPN reports.

The doctor made the announcement today in a PSDE press release: "I have chosen to be part of a team of professional, competent and experienced people who want and can change things for the better in the country. I want a better and safer future for our children and for all citizens, a better future here at home".

PSDE Vice President Tudor Ulianovschi said that "Mihai Stratulat's professionalism and experience of more than 15 years in medicine will bring added value to PSDE and will contribute to the improvement of the health system in Moldova".

PSDE emphasized that it remains open for cooperation with any political force or person of good faith who wants to change things for the better in the country and in each individual community, ensuring the security and well-being of citizens.

Mihai Stratulat ran unsuccessfully in the 2019 parliamentary elections on the lists of the Democratic Party, then led by Vladimir Plahotniuc. In 2021 Mihai Stratulat joined the People's Power Party, a party founded by former interim mayor of the capital Ruslan Codreanu.

The European Social Democratic Party is the name given to the former Democratic Party of Moldova in 2022, following changes in image and leadership. The new president of the party - Ion Sula, ex-president of the Territorial Organization of PDM Ialoveni, ex-minister of Agriculture and Food Industry and ex-director of the National Agency for Food Safety - was also elected.
