Two pedestrians – a man aged 55 and a 66-year-old-woman – lost their lives in traffic accidents on February 6. Traffic Police Division spokeswoman Dana Andronic has told Info-Prim Neo that the man was a resident of Putintei village, Orhei district. He was struck by a minibus running on the Drochia – Chisinau route. The accident happened on a road going to Ivancea village at about 6pm. According to the police, the man was jaywalking. He died on the spot. No occupant of the minibus was hurt. The woman was struck fatally by a Mercedes car driven by a 20-year-old man. The accident occurred on Voluntarilor St in Chisinau at about 11pm. The woman died immediately after she was hit.
