The leader of the Democratic Party (PDM) Pavel Filip said the party will not vote for the executive proposed by Natalia Gavrilița and he considers the Parliament sitting in which the government program of the candidate for Prime Minister will be presented is a waste of time on citizens’ money. Moreover, Filip criticized the government program of Gavrilița, saying this is unserious, IPN reports.
Pavel Filip expressed his discontent with the MPs’ decision to debate the proposed government program when a number of parliamentary groups announced their intention not to support this government.
“I’m absolutely sure that the first attempt to invest the Gavrilița Government will fail and we will lose one more day in Parliament. The Democratic group will not vote. I think this will be the first Government that will gain no vote in Parliament. Why shouldn’t they put the issue to the vote immediately, without this show?” Pavel Filip asked in the program “Politics” on TV8 channel.
He noted the government program proposed by Natalia Gavrilița stipulates a number of measures to increase social protection, but these objectives do not have financial backing. The program was written in a hurry and the approach is not serious. A 0% tax rate on reinvested profit was proposed, but the IMF is categorically against this.
The politician avoided saying if the Democrats intends to form a parliamentary majority together with other MPs if the first attempt to vote in the Government fails, but noted that a coalition with the Socialists and with the MPs of the platform “For Moldova” is out of the question.
“We will not secure a majority together with the PSRM and “For Moldova”. The best solution is to form a broad PSRM-PDM-PAS-PPPDA coalition, but this is not possible as the PAS insists on snap elections,” stated Pavel Filip.
Under the law, if the first attempt to vote in a new Government fails, the President initiates consultations with the parliamentary parties. If there is no formalized majority that would propose a candidate for Prime Minister, the President suggests a new or the same candidate.
