PDM says PLDM vote in Floresti represents betrayal, Filat denies

The Democratic Party (PDM) considers that the votes of the district councilors representing the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), by which the head of Floresti district Stefan Panis was dismissed, represent betrayal. In a communiqué, quoted by Info-Prim Neo, the party says that on February 28, the Liberal-Democratic councilors from Floresti voted together with the Communist councilors in favor of discharging Democrat Stefan Panis from the post of head of the district. The Democrats challenge the legality of this decision, while the PLDM denies the accusations. “The Democratic Party of Moldova considers that by those votes the councilors of the PLDM destroyed the democratic majority in the district administration. Today, the PLDM betrayed again a Democratic partner, choosing to form an alliance with the PCRM, namely with those whom they criticized and blamed less than a year ago,” it is said in the communiqué. The Democratic Party believes that this move is inspired by the behavior of the PLDM and its leader Vlad Filat and blames them for the destruction of the democratic majority in Parliament by withdrawing from the agreement on the formation of the PLDM-PDM-PL ruling alliance. In a TV program in the evening of February 28, Vlad Filat said the parties that formed the ruling alliance do not have institutionalized mutual obligations at local level, underlining the other two components of the AEI also voted together with the PCRM al local level.
